Report from Ronald Marshall on Building and Grounds.
There was a clean up day at the new ball diamond behind Ithaca Gun, which went very well.
There was also a Chicken BBQ to raise funds for the field.
The lease with Ithaca Gun LLC and the
Town of Genoa is ready for signing.
The committee for the Town Hall has hired an appraiser for the property to be purchased
from Mabel Newton on the corner of Bartnik Road and Route 90. This will be the northeast
corner. His verbal appraisal to the committee was $20,000.00 for approximately 10 acres.
There should be a letter from
the appraiser to confirm this appraisal. His charge is $300.00. The committee chose this
property over Roger and Virginia Connor offer because of the access to the water line.
Later to find out that Roger and Virginia have also been on the waterline for the piece
of property they donated. However
there is a question on how many acres are available on the Connor lot. Hans Pecher has
resigned from the committee so he can represent Mabel Newton without conflict of interest
in the purchase of the property. However the Board has not made the decision as to where
the building will be. Melissa
Fedrizzi gave a written report explaining that the building will be similar to the Venice
Town Hall with possibly more room in the basement. All offices will be on the first
floor with handicap accessibility to both floors. Ronald Marshall took the time to thank
the committee for a speedy
response. Kenneth Manzari has donated his labor to install the plumbing to the New Town
Hall (if they build it before he is to old to do manual labor). This is a big savings to
the town.
Programs and Grants
Supervisor Harrison said that the letter he received designated approximately the same
funding for next years youth program.
Highway Report.
Working in Whipple Road project. Installing filter fabric and then the gravel. With the
help from Scipio-Venice-Moravia-Niles-and Ledyard, we have most of the gravel on it.
Still have to do drive way, culverts and a lot of ditching. Were helping Niles do the
same thing on one of their roads. Al
is still mowing. Dale Parker asked for a list of roads that might need attention from
the county in the next year. David gave him the names of two.
Water report.
David Reeves attended a two-day seminar for computers in Cortland. There was not report
at this time.
Representative Donald Potter from the Cayuga County Water Committee gave a report on how
important it is for us to keep in good terms with the Bolton Point operation for future
water sources that might be to our advantage as well as the rest of the county. There
seems to be a misunderstanding as to
how an article was interpreted in the Lansing Community News. Hopefully we have this
ironed out.
Code Enforcement.
Wayne gave a detailed report to the board on his accomplishments for the month of August.
Supervisors Report was read and approved.

Dog control has begun with the enumeration process. Richard Welch has some concerns
about barking dogs that are left all day to bark while owner are away.
Rich Harrison has been looking for better utility rates since March and has found only
one company that will do Municipalities. However this company could save The Town of
Genoa approximately $1,800.00 per year. He is still researching.
There will be a meeting at King Ferry GHA building at 8:00 pm on October 4, 2000 to work
on the 2001 budget.
Bill were presented and approved.
