REGULAR MEETING, GENOA TOWN BOARD
SEPTEMBER 10, 2003

A Regular meeting of the Genoa Town Board was held on September 10, 2003 at the Genoa Town Hall 1000 Bartnick Road, Genoa, New York 13071.

The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M.

Land Development Rights

Shanna Berry gave presentation on development right sales. Sjana and John are looking into the NYS Program to sell their development rights. They are asking the Genoa Town Board to write a letter so they can keep their land as farms land and not be developed in future years. The Board tables their decision until the special meeting on September 24, 2003.

Water Committee Report

The brochures and postcards are out. Post cards have to be completely filled out and returned to Karen Shields Water Clerk.

Programs and Grants

Next years application is in the process. Waiting for a few bills that are not in for summer of 2003.

Code Enforcement

Permits issued for the month of August 2003 were Bruce Kopp, Jon Gans, Paul Loiselle, John Chandler, Charles Sellen, and Miller Tilling. Inspections Gans, Christopher, Raymundo, Miller Rt 34B, Loiselle, & Gans.

Building and Grounds

Butch is checking on a Flag Pole that is made out of white fiberglass.

Highway Report

August 2003.

Finished up the gravel on Sharpsteen Road. Rafferty gave a final rolling. Purged the wells at the landfill so they could be tested. Hauled gravel for Venice. Also helped Ledyard with a cold pave project on one section of Dixon Road. Helped Moravia oil and chip one day. Moravia and Venice helped us two days oil and chip on North Mahaney,Whipple,Creek,Tupper and Weeks Road. Al is mowing and patching.

Assessors Update:

Assessor requested a Computer-camera chip-track base. We will need to be tied into States Computer. Tax base increase after update is 29% up from last year.
