Building Permit
Building permits are required in all municipalities in New York State. These permits are to ensure that you and your families or employees will live or work in a safe building. Permits include: new construction, manufactured housing, alterations, demolition or structural work, outside stairways, decks and replacement decks and rails; any electrical, plumbing or HVAC installations, garages, swimming pools, and sheds.
Who can apply for a building permit: homeowners or contractors both need to provide any documents for the work and proof of Workers Compensation Insurance or a CE200 exemption for homeowners.
